Inacio’s Coffee Journey: A Legacy Resurrected in São Sebastião do Anta
In the serene region of São Sebastião do Anta, nestled within Mata de Minas, Inacio embarked on a remarkable coffee journey—one that defied odds and breathed new life into a legacy.
The soil of São Sebastião do Anta was not traditionally known for nurturing specialty coffee plants. Inacio’s father, Jairo, traded in conventional coffees, influenced by the beliefs of green traders who dismissed the possibility of producing specialty grade coffee on their farm. Even Inacio himself had different plans until life took an unexpected turn.
A serious illness struck Jairo, compelling Inacio to return to the fazenda and uphold his father’s legacy. Passion ignited within Inacio, fueling his determination to prove the skeptics wrong.
On a parallel path lies the team at FST, deeply entrenched in the global high-end coffee market. Contrary to expectations, their primary sales encompass large-scale yet exceptionally high-quality traditional varieties like Catuai and Caturra. Their success is a testament to the remarkable terroir they are blessed with—rich volcanic soil, elevated altitudes, embracing rainforests, and idyllic weather systems.
At the heart of FST’s offerings are their prime Geisha trees, progeny of Don Serracin’s Geisha from the esteemed Don Pache estate. This rich lineage infuses a distinct character into their lots, elevating the quality and setting them apart.
Inacio and FST, though distinct in their approaches, epitomize the transformative power of dedication and the influence of a nurturing terroir. Together, they paint a vivid picture of how passion, perseverance, and exceptional conditions can resurrect a legacy and cultivate unparalleled excellence in coffee production.
