Inacio’s Vision: Elevating Fazenda Jairo Soares
In the heart of Mata de Minas, within São Sebastião do Anta—a region not widely recognized for its coffee prowess—lies Fazenda Jairo Soares, a testament to determination and legacy. Inacio, a young and ambitious farmer, is the force behind the transformation of this farm, defying conventional norms.
The legacy began with Inacio’s father, a man entrenched in the trade of conventional coffees during his youth. Green traders doubted the potential for specialty grade coffee on this very farm, but fate had other plans. When illness befell Inacio’s father, Inacio stepped into his shoes and took up the mantle to improve the farm from its very foundations.
Inacio’s commitment to excellence drove him to embrace innovation, revolutionizing every aspect from soil management and processing to drying methods. The results, as savored in each cup, bear testimony to his unwavering dedication.
On Inacio’s watch, no mechanical picking machines tread the land of this comparatively small farm—a rarity in the expansive coffee landscape of Brazil. Every coffee cherry is meticulously picked and processed, embodying Inacio’s meticulous care and attention to detail. His belief in farm investment as a means to uplift the entire community is at the core of his endeavors.
With each harvest, Inacio has not only elevated the quality of his coffee but has also elevated the community. Prices achieved have soared, a stark contrast to the days of high-yield conventional production. Remarkably, the same coffee plants that once yielded sub 80 points have now soared to an impressive 86 points under Inacio’s relentless pursuit of change.
At Manhattan Coffee Roasters, we stand in awe of Fazenda Jairo Soares’s remarkable journey and firmly believe that the best is yet to come. Inacio’s visionary approach is a beacon of hope, demonstrating that passion and dedication can truly transform not just a farm, but an entire community.
